1/8/1947 - His real name was David Robert Jones: born on this date, the truly one-of-a-kind/one-and-only David Bowie. For the immeasurable significance and influence of his work, the terms "innovation", "reinvention", "visual presentation" simply cannot do justice to what David achieved -- The fact is (really) it's doubtful that you can name another artist on the planet that can compete with his most creative era, 1969 to 1979 -- In those simple (and quick) ten years, Bowie did more than 100,000 other wanna-be's lifetimes combined. Sadly, profoundly missed...
