7/13/1967 (49 years ago today) - Chapter One of The Heavy Metal Book gets written here: after wisely changing their name from The Polka Tulk Blues Company, Black Sabbath play their first live gig at a small backstreet blues club in Birmingham, England.

7/13/1969 (47 years ago today) - There's no such thing as bad publicity, etc., etc.: Hundreds of U.S. radio stations refuse to play The Beatles' new single "The Ballad Of John And Yoko" because of the lines "Christ, you know it ain't easy" and "They're gonna crucify me". In England, it was the bands 17th and final Number One single!

7/13/1974 (42 years ago today) - Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band kick off a three night/six show residency at the newly-opened Bottom Line club in New York City. The reviews are over-the-top, the tickets are really hard to get, and the word is out: you gotta see these guys, you won't believe it!!! Thus it begins...
