5/22/1958 (62 years ago today) - Whole lotta head shakin' goin' on: Jerry Lee Lewis arrives at Heathrow Airport in London to begin his first ever tour of Britain; unfortunately, he also chose to share the media spotlight with his new bride/third wife/second cousin 13-year old Myra -- When advised not to talk about it, The Killer proceeds to do nothing BUT talk about it -- The public shock steam rolls, and Jerry's tour is cancelled after just three of 37 scheduled performances.

5/22/1971 (49 years ago today) - Look up "Perfect Masterpiece", and here's what you'll find: The Rolling Stones' "Sticky Fingers" starts four weeks at No. 1 on the LP chart -- Their second chart-topping album in the U.S. was also the bands first release on their own record label, as well as being the debut of the now-beyond-classic "Tongue and Lip Design" logo -- The cover artwork (designed by Andy Warhol) was a B&W close-up photo of a crotch clad in tight blue jeans featuring a fully working zipper, so this may have helped sales just a tad: pull the zipper down, and you see...cotton briefs that were being worn by Warhol film star Joe Dallesandro, not (as was assumed) Mick Jagger -- Arguably their best-and-most-consistently-solid set of songs, beautifully sequenced for maximum effect, you'll never be let down listening to this album...

5/22/2011 (9 years ago today) - Four dead dogs were found in 'sealed containers' at the Tennessee home of former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent during an investigation leading to his arrest on charges of assaulting his wife -- He was released after paying $10,000 bail; Vinnie played lead guitar with Kiss during their ill-fated transition out of full-make-up period between 1982 and '84. That's right, four dogs!
