10/11/1967 (52 years ago today) - True story: Before the band's performance, there was an actual beauty pageant held on the stage -- The Doors are ready to appear at Danbury High School, Danbury, Connecticut, but first an announcer came out to tell the audience that if anyone in the crowd got up from out of their seats during the performance, they would be escorted out of the venue. Well, all in all it sounds like a great set-up for real rock night...

10/11/1999 (20 years ago today) - ...plus he got someone out front to pour a drink over the security guard's head: Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee was released on $5,000 bail after facing charges related to a 1997 North Carolina show in which he incited a riot at the gig by encouraging fans to attack a bouncer who was just doing his job. Well, all in all it sounds like a great set-up for a real rock night...
