10/3/1954 - Born on this day, one of the most revered guitarists to ever grace the musical sphere, the irreplaceable Stevie Ray Vaughan -- Despite an all-too-short mainstream seven-year career, Stevie's talents as a musician and band leader earned him international acclaim as the de-facto head-honcho of the 1980's blues revival, and his influence as a powerhouse electric guitar virtuoso cannot be overstated -- Another fantastic talent gone too soon: Stevie was just 35 when he died in that tragic helicopter crash August 27, 1990.

10/3/1962 - ...and he can play while upside-down! Happy Birthday to Motley Crue drummer and founding member Tommy Lee (born in Athens, Greece) who turns 57 years old today -- In addition to the Crue catalog, Lee also formed the rap-metal outfit Methods Of Mayhem and found the time to work in marriages to model Elaine Starchuk and actresses Heather Locklear and Pamela Anderson. It's what rock stars do...
