10/8/1948 - The guitarist for punk rock icons The Ramones was born on this date, and as the one and only Johnny Ramone, we gotta properly give it up good for John Cummings' contributions to the burgeoning DIY scene of the mid-Seventies, impossible to over-praise, never to be under-estimated -- Sadly, no band members are currently alive; Johnny passed away from prostate cancer on September 15, 2004. We really mean it when we say "God Bless The Ramones", as their first three albums can still induce whiplash...
