10/8/1964 (56 years ago today) - With Paul doing his best Ray Charles, this track became one of our Top Five Beatle favorites, no doubt about it: While working at Abbey Road studios in London, The Beatles recorded one side of their next single; including overdubs, it took only seven takes to complete "She's A Woman"-- From start to finished product, the boys had it nailed down in less than five hours. 10/8/1948 - The guitarist for punk rock icons The Ramones was born on this date, and as the one and only Johnny Ramone, we gotta properly give it up good for John Cummings' contributions to the burgeoning DIY scene of the mid-Seventies, impossible to over-praise, never to be under-estimated -- Sadly, no band members are currently alive; Johnny passed away from prostate cancer on September 15, 2004. We really mean it when we say "God Bless The Ramones", as their first three albums can still induce whiplash...
