Enjoy working with your hands? Ever been interested in construction, but not sure where to begin?

Thankfully, the Lewiston Construction Training Program is starting soon and will give you a leg up by providing the basic skills and knowledge of the construction industry. This program combines hands on training and on the job training with our employer partners including: Consigli, Hahnel Brothers, St. Laurent & Sons, and NorthEast Paint.

This training program is holding its orientation on Tuesday, January 28, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, and you can go!

Students accepted into the program will learn about workplace safety, hand and power tools, construction math for measuring, fractions and basic geometry while earning an OSHA 10, NCCER and RRP certification.

Dan Deshane, an assistant superintendent of Consigli Construction, participated in the initiative last year and said “the program is great for exposing candidates to the construction field that they would otherwise overlook.”

John Ferland, VP of Hahnel Brothers has been part of the program since the beginning: “We have seen this program evolve into a genuine success that not only benefits the candidates by providing them knowledge of the construction industry, but also benefits the contractors and the community.”

All of the partners offer competitive wages, and the opportunity to grow your career. This training is FREE to eligible candidates.

Attendance for the orientation is required from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the deadline to register is Monday, January 27.

So if you're looking to get into construction, this is the perfect place to start. You can check out the event page on Facebook here.

Call (207) 333-6455 to register for your spot at the orientation.
