Business for Uncle Andy's Diner has been slower these days since the Casco Bay Bridge traffic was rerouted in the Mill Creek area to Broadway. Well, it seems that is about to change. The owner's daughters decided to write to the Food Network reality show, "Restaurant Impossible" and tell them the Uncle Andy's story. The show's producers loved it and decide to give Uncle Andy's a makeover. It will be airing sometime in June and Uncle Andy's Grand Re-opening will be on June 11.

Uncle Andy's Diner across from Mill Creek Park in South Portland is a legendary eating establishment that’s been around since the fifties. It started out as a bakery with the BEST oatmeal bread. For the past 10 years it has been owned by Dennis Fogg and his wife, Tina. Dennis is also a comedian who tells jokes while he's at the grill in front of a captive audience seated on swiveling stools at semi-circular counters. Absolutely the coolest place to bring the family for breakfast!

In the video below, I asked Dennis about "Restaurant Impossible" and he's very excited!
