At 42, World’s Oldest Twinkie Sets Records in Maine
A few years ago, The Bangor Daily News shared this video of a 40-year-old twinkie (now about 42 years old), still enshrined in a glass case at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.
Worlds Oldest Twinkie Turns 40 from HIS Radio on Vimeo.
It's been sitting inside a glass case now for 42 years, and it looks just slightly more gross than the day it went in.
The best line in the story comes from Tatiana Heggestad, a sophomore at the school:
“I don’t think I would [try a bite] because I am actually vegan,” she said. “But also for other reasons — just because it’s 40 years old.”
Great thinking, Tatiana.
