Warning-Maine Rivers and Streams Running High And Fast Right Now

A warning from our friends at the National Weather Service in Gray. 

"Rivers and streams will continue to run high this weekend with water temperatures still only in the 30s and 40s."

The NWS also shared some amazing and somewhat scary facts about fast-moving water:

• 6 inches of fast moving water can sweep an adult off their feet. Imagine what 4 feet can do!

In addition to swift waters, Mainers also have to deal with COLD water in rivers, streams, and lakes. We may be coming up on Memorial Day weekend, but that doesn't mean our favorite body of water is ready for summertime swimming. Some water temps are still in the 30's!
