Watch the First Video From Cheap Trick’s New Album
A new video for "When I Wake Up Tomorrow" gives us our second taste of Cheap Trick's upcoming album Bang, Zoom, Crazy ... Hello. You can watch the clip above.
"This song always reminds me of a sultry David Bowie song," Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen told Rolling Stone. "I liked it from the first time we attempted to do it. It's just a moody, interesting piece with some heavy guitars in the middle. The last line is 'Are you gonna be here when I wake up tomorrow,' and then Bowie passed away after we recorded it."
"When I Wake Up Tomorrow," set for release as part of Bang, Zoom, Crazy ... Hello on April 1, follows the album's first advance single, “No Direction Home,” which was made available as a free download in December. The new LP arrives just one week before Cheap Trick are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bang, Zoom, Crazy ... Hello marks the band's first new album since 2009's The Latest – the longest stretch between studio efforts ever for Cheap Trick. It's also their first since founding drummer Bun E. Carlos was replaced by Daxx Nielsen, Rick's son. Carlos is scheduled to reunite with the band during their Hall of Fame induction ceremony next month.
The group will be entering the hallowed hall with Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller and N.W.A, after finishing No. 7 in fan-ballot voting. Cheap Trick have been eligible for induction since 2002.
