Okay. So 2020 hasn't been so great. There's a lot going on in the world right now and we're all getting overwhelmed. So it's really great when you can take a moment stuck in construction traffic and forget it all while watching the flagger dance while you wait.

On Forest Avenue in Portland, right near Ernie's Pool & Darts, utility construction has been going on for a week or so. Construction crews are busy digging up the road to do whatever it is they have to do down there. That's caused traffic in that short section of Forest Avenue to be reduced to one lane, which of course means traffic needs to be controlled by a pair of flaggers. 'Tis the season you know.

Every time I drive by on my way home from work, I always know that the dancing flagger will be there. Today I got stopped at the front of the line so I was able to reach up to my phone's dashmount and start shooting some video of her for the world to see.

By the way she looked as I drove by, she may have figured out I was shooting video of her.

I'm not sure what her motivation for dancing is, but I would imagine that keeping moving rather than standing still all day long is probably a lot better for your body. I didn't notice if she had earbuds in either, so she may just be dancing to music in her head.

Either way, it's great to see every day on my way home. Whoever you are dancing flagger, thanks for showing off your moves and allowing us all to take a break from the world for a minute or two.
