If you thought the lines at Rock Row for Chick-fil-A would die down after a week or two, guess again.

Chick-fil-A opened up on October 28 and the lines on that day were absolutely crazy. The Westrbook Police Department said in a Facebook post that the very popular fast food chicken restaurant has hired them for another week to help manage the traffic flow in the very busy Rock Row parking lot. That traffic is about to get even more hectic with another grand opening this week.

REI is scheduled to open this Friday, November 12. REI is headquartered in Seattle that sells sporting goods, camping gear, travel equipment, and clothing. It's also the first top open in Maine, and will be located right next to Market Basket, which is right where all the cars going to Chick-fil-A are streaming in and out of. So a perfect storm of traffic is brewing like a Nor'easter coming up the Maine coast and the forecast calls a mixed back of camping gear, groceries, and chicken. So the Westbrook Police have a plan.

First, they want everyone to know that the dining room at Chick-fil-A is not open. So if you park your car and try to walk in, you have to get back in it and head to the end of the drive through line. You know how when you play Chutes and Ladders and you land on the ladder sending you all the way back to the start? It's just like that and the chicken is that much farther away.

They also want you to know that traffic to get to Chick-fil-A is going to flow all the way around the back of Market Basket where cars will line up in the dirt-covered area to await their chicken. It's a long wait, but the staff at Chick-fil-A are very efficient with their system. The line keeps moving but it's comparable to trying to get out of a concert at Gillette Stadium.

Police also ask that if you're behind the wheel, put your cell phone down, because if you get distracted, you could find your bumper bashed up against someone else's and that will really make it difficult to get your chicken.
