What I Did When Food Showed Up on My Steps in Falmouth That I Didn’t Order

There I was about to make dinner. Didn't really have a plan, but was hungry and about to make some avocado toast and eggs. I figured that would do the trick. But first things first. I needed to take out the garbage...and as I headed out the door, I saw what was clearly a food order - that I didn't make.

I was immediately elated! My love language is food and when it's free food, well there's nothing better. I brought the package in and instantly had a major twinge of guilt. Ugh. Who is this Brittany M? If I were her, I'd be super bummed that I didn't get my food! So I looked on the 'neighborhood news' Facebook group to find a Brittany. Nope. Way less guilt! Time to dig in!

No information on where the food came from (was it safe?) or where it was going. I plowed through this chicken pho and it was delicious. I put the picture of the receipt on Instagram and got a message pretty quickly,

Hey, that's my Door Dash. What happened?

Oh no! By that time, the food was in my belly! We really don't know what happened, but I did find out a couple of things. Brittany lives in Windham and her food was delivered in Falmouth. Clearly a boo-boo. She did get a new delivery of food. So she only paid for one meal and mine was free. It was delicious and I feel bad. It came from Bamboo Bistro in Westbrook. I have to say, they got a new customer from this boo-boo so I promise I will make up for it!

I've never been so happy about a mistake in my life. It was such a treat! Would you have eaten food that randomly appeared at your door?
