What You Need To Know About the Dempsey Challenge and the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing
The 8th annual Dempsey Challenge is coming in October to raise money for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing. It's a weekend full of fun, emotion, and community as people come from all over the state in support of the same cause.
The Dempsey Challenge is a fundraising event for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing that involves participants biking and running/walking. This year's event takes place October 1 and 2 at at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston and features events for the whole family in addition to the bike and run.
The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing provides free support services to anyone who has been affected by cancer. Opened in 2008 after his mother had several bouts of cancer, the center is now a landmark in Lewiston as it helps people from all over Maine deal with the dreaded disease. Patrick's mother passed away in 2014, but her legacy lives on through the center and the Dempsey Challenge.
