News Center Maine recently gave us a heads up on a practice that many of us have, abbreviating the year when signing something. I'm guilty. Writing '19 was soooo much easier than 2019. Don't know why, but I never wrote out all four numbers. Well, times have changed and you need to hear this, lazy bones. It's not safe for you to just write '20 anywhere.

Fraud should actually be a four letter word because it so aggravating, but here we go again with another way the bad guys can get to us. Always write out 2020 when dating a document or check, if you leave the last two numbers out they can be filled in with other numbers and make the year incorrect.
