I know, I know...you hear vegan ice cream and you might think ick.

But sisters in Portland Maine are gonna 100% change your mind. Kelley and Ashley are the sister-owners of Sticky Sweet at the bottom of Munjoy Hill on Cumberland Avenue. I read on their website that they are on a mission to make the best plant-based ice cream. 100% vegan and 100% gluten-free. Well, that sounded like a challenge to me, so I went and tried it! Of course, I was conflicted as to what to get when I finally looked over the menu at their adorable little ice cream shop with a walk-up window.

I was conflicted about what to get. I had narrowed it down between sea salt maple and peanut butter cookie. I went with the peanut butter cookie. It's served one of two ways. You can get it on a fresh daily made from scratch 100% vegan and gluten-free waffle cone or waffle bowl. I went with the cone.

Vegan? Gluten-free? How the hell did they do that? There is no way you would know that this ice cream has NO DAIRY! I'm not even lactose intolerant or watching my gluten, but if I were - I would eat this ice cream every day! They churn a blend of plants like cashews and coconuts into 'creamy perfection.' And they are right when they say,

OUR ICE CREAM WILL MAKE YOU FORGET ALL ABOUT DAIRY.

There is no dairy, no eggs, no gluten, no cholesterol, and nothing artificial.

Kelley and Ashley...I don't know what voodoo you do to make this ice cream, but half the people in my life are either watching their dairy intake or gluten and you will soon be their heroes.
