Herb considers himself luckiest guy in the world to be able to captain one of the greatest rock stations in the USA! That's why the call him "The Captain," right? He's been on the Blimp for over 30 years, and no two days have ever been the same. He calls Blimp listeners “friends I’ve never met,” and it’s true as they share a common bond of living in Maine and a passion for Rock and Roll. He also enjoys working with so many local charities and businesses as well. He's wicked proud to represent Townsquare Media as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Broadcasters and as a board member of NESCom at Husson University.

What Are The Chances That Giant Runaway Rocket Crashes Into Maine This Weekend?
This is just great. On top of this horrible global pandemic, we now have a 10-story, 23-ton piece of rocket ship hurtling back and hitting Earth sometime this weekend. This could ruin my Mother's Day plans! it seems a piece of China's Long March 5B rocket is tumbling out of control,, coming back in what officials are calling "an uncontrolled re-entry." Well, you can say that again. So, the natural question is, what are the chances the rocket will hit Maine? It's hard to pinpoint exactly where and when the rocket will fall. Now that the rocket has dropped into low-Earth orbit, there are a ton of variables in the Earth's atmosphere that could speed up or slow down the rocket's descent. The way I figure it, if 3/5th of the planet is covered in water, then there's a 2/5th or 40% chance that it will hit land. And with my luck that means a 100% chance it will hit my house.
There’s A Sweet New Kitty Living On the Summit of Mount Washington, NH
Meet Nimbus! The new "summit cat" of Mount Washington. Cats have been living at the top of Mount Washington since the 1930s, keeping company with the officials and visitors who make the 6,288-foot journey. It can be lonely work for people who work at the Mount Washington Observatory, so having a pet around must be welcomed. Nimbus, a gray Shorthair, came from a rescue shelter in Oklahoma.

We found this photo on Reddit today and thought you might get a giggle from it. It reportedly is a sign from Kenduskeag, a town in Penobscot County, Maine. Like a good Maine sign, it works on several different levels. First, there is the combo of a liquor store that sells live bait. Soooo Maine.

It's one of the worst feelings in the world. You're out and about in public, and..." duty calls" Now you need to find a restroom, and FAST. It's sometimes even more urgent if you have little ones with you. It's no surprise to anyone that Mainers have drunk more during the pandemic. For many of us, it's the reason we are carrying around an extra 10 pounds these days. But the effects of Mainers alcohol use, and misuse, especially during the past year, have led to some unfortunate consequences. That's a 28% increase from 2019 and a 75% increase from 2015. The State of Maine recently released a brief on alcohol use in Maine. It's certainly worth a read. Here are some key findings:
