One of Portland's trailblazing craft breweries, Rising Tide, announced they're planning a massive expansion for 2017.

If you're someone who's enjoyed Portland's elevation to the craft beer capital of the world, then you've inevitably enjoyed a few pints of Rising Tide Brewing Company's offerings. In fact, it's a little hard to believe that Rising Tide has only been around for six years. But their popularity has grown and now so will their operations.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the expansion will come in two phases, as two of their neighbors in their Bayside neighborhood have either decide to move locations or have gone out of business. The availability of more than 6,000 square feet to expand was too good to pass up.

Rising Tide will take over the space left vacant by Maine Craft Distilling, who are moving up the street in Portland to expand their own operations. The 3,500 square foot expansion will allow Rising Tide to expand their space for just hanging out, a place for people to come together, drink beer and just relax. Rising Tide's reputation has grown quickly for being a great place to do just that.

The other half of the space, which was formerly Greener Cleaners, will be used to increase production of their most popular offerings. Beers like the Maine Island Trail Ale and Zephyr haven't spent enough time on store shelves to grab speckles of dust, and with demand higher, supply must increase. Rising Tide has already begun their use of that space.

So get ready for more of your favorite Rising Tide beers and more space for you and your friends to enjoy next summer!
