According to Maine.gov, you need to have a current Maine big game hunting license, lifetime license or you can to hunt on your own property without one.

You will also need an Any Deer Permit which you can apply for online. You'll find residency and landowner requirements there as well. There is no fee to apply. Only one application per person is allowed.

If you want in this season, you better get on it.

The deadline to get your name in, is Monday August 17, 2020.

Everyone who applies will be entered into a lottery for permits. That will happen on September 11, 2020.

"Hunters will be issued 109,990 permits in this year's lottery, marking the first time the permits will top 90,000."

Looks like a very good year for you to get your deer.

Now let's have some laughs with this silly gem that the Captain and Celeste play faithfully every season on the WBLM Morning Show.
