It looks like the coronavirus isn't the only thing we need to worry about these days. Scammers have now resorted to exploiting COVID-19 and capitalizing on our stress and worry about the virus.

The Thomaston Police Department shared a photo of a text message that featured a link. The text warned the recipient that they had come in contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19 and recommends you follow a link for more information.

Yikes.

For someone unsuspecting it would be so easy to click without even thinking. Our instincts would kick in and want to get as much information as possible.

Just know that if you've been exposed you're not going to receive a text message.

If it's not COVID-19 it will be something else. Always be skeptical and always think twice before clicking on a link.
