We’re celebrating another great show that came to Portland. 37 years ago today, WBLM welcomed back ZZ Top to the Civic Center on April 6, 1980. It was 3 years after they were the very first event and very first rock concert in the new building.

Today is a mighty significant anniversary for Portland, Maine! It was 40 years ago today that the very first event happened at the Civic Center. And of course here in Blimpville, the first event was a concert!

26 years ago today,  ZZ Top played the second of two sold-out nights at the Civic Center in Portland. They were here on  the Recycler tour and the song My Head’s in Mississippi was rockin’ the airwaves of WBLM!

ZZ Top will heat up the road mid-winter with a run of North American dates they've dubbed their 2017 Tonnage tour.

Yesterday we celebrated Pete Townshend turning 71 with the Who live and loud on the ride home. Sharing a birthday with Pete today is another rock legend. He was born May 19, 1949 in Dallas, Texas.  Joseph Michael Hill turns 67. Blimpville knows him better as ‘Dusty’ from ZZ Top.

ZZ Top have pushed back their on-going tour until May 7, as Dusty Hill continues to recover from a touring injury.

WBLM welcomes back ZZ Top to Maine on September 4th. This time we're rocking ZZ-style at The Maine State Pier. Tickets go on sale to the General Public on Friday. But  YOU are not the "General Public." You, my friend are a Blimpster. And Blimpsters get to buy tickets and grab up the good seats a day before anyone else...

That little 'ol band from Texas is back.  WBLM welcomes back ZZ TOP to the Maine State Pier on September 4th. This will be ZZ Top's 19th show in Maine. They've done some historic ones for us over the years, including the very first show ever at the Cumberland Country Civic Center and the BLM 30th Birthday Party back in 2003...
