6/12/1965 (50 years ago today) - Holy Motown, Batman, these girls were fantastic!: The Supremes (note: before they were known as Diana Ross & The --- ) score their fifth consecutive U.S. Number One single with "Back In My Arms Again". Historic, too: they become the very first American group to achieve this feat -- We love The Supremes!!! Seriously. You gotta go back 'n check 'em out...

6/12/1972 (43 years ago today) - With a bit of super-secretive help from her mother, a bare-footed Ronnie Spector manages to get the heck out of husband Phil's Beverly Hills mansion for the final time, though she had to (temporarily) leave behind her adopted sons, three year old Donte and six year old twins Louis and Gary. She files for divorce immediately; it's granted in 1974. Many almost-unbelievable stories about Phil Spector's behavior now begin to see the light of day...

6/12/1951 - Happy Birthday to Brad M. Carlson, one of our all-time favorite time-keepers, the extraordinarily underrated original Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, 64 today. The band is currently touring with guitarist Rick Nielsen's son Daxx on drums; regarding his status in the band, Carlos has said "maybe we'll kiss and make up", while the other members say that any decisions Cheap Trick makes, Bun E. is a part of. A little bit o' rock 'n' roll mystery goin' on here...
