6/13/1970 (46 years ago today) - Even at the very end, they still ruled both charts: The Beatles start a two week run at No. 1 with "The Long And Winding Road" (their 20th singles chart topper, by the way); on this same date, the "Let It Be" album starts four weeks in a row at No. 1; it was their 12th and final LP and, a liitle weirdly, it was done before the recording and release of "Abbey Road".

6/13/1970 (46 years ago today) - The venue is The Ocean Ice Palace in Bricktown, New Jersey -- the headliners are the then-red-hot Grand Funk Railroad -- the opening act is Steel Mill, whose lead singer is a local guitar hero by the name of Bruce Springsteen -- Tickets cost $5.00!

6/13/1975 (41 years ago today) - The venue is The Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco -- It's the first of two nights headlined by Peter Frampton, whose been performing as a solo act since leaving Humble Pie less than four years earlier --  The recordings from both evening's sets are mixed, edited and released as "Frampton Comes Alive!" -- At the time, it became the most successful double-live album ever released, breezily selling over six million in just a few weeks...
