11/12/1965 (50 years ago today) -The Velvet Underground make their live debut at Summit High School, New Jersey -- they get paid $75.

11/12/1966 (49 years ago today) - The Monkees debut album begins a 13-week reign at Number One -- over three months at the top, holy bananas! -- and sells over 3 million copies in the process. By 1966 standards, that is positively/totally over-the-top amaze-balls!!!

11/12/1945 - Happy Birthday Neil Young, 70 years old today. If we have to explain Mr. Young to any of you reading this, you have landed on the wrong web site. There's just not enough room to get into what it is that makes Neil one of the all-time legends, so we've picked three videos to help you out:
