Trying the Beer That Tastes Like Root Beer for the First Time [VIDEO]

Someone has taken a beloved beverage of my childhood and combined it with a beloved beverage of my adulthood. This beer tastes exactly like root beer to me and is 5.9% ABV. YAY!  I picked up my first six pack to try at Friendly Discount on Forest Avenue recently and I have a new favorite drink!  It’s called ‘Not Your Father’s Root Beer’ from Small Town Brewery in Illinois. These people are genius. When I took my first sip, I kinda tasted the beer. Then after the third or fourth sip, the hint of beer was hard to notice and all I could taste…sweet root beer. Truly amazing! I went back to Friendly Discount for more, and the owner says it’s been flying off the shelves. Luckily, there was still a stack of cases in the walk-in beer cave. I thought for a moment about buying a case and decided to simmah down and just grab another six-pack. Next time, I’m buying a friggin’ case, bub!
