It looks like the embarrassment of riches of great concerts will continue in Bangor with the announcement that Waterfront Concerts has inked a lease deal with the city for 10 years for Darling's Waterfront Pavilion.

Owner Alex Gray said:

“The staff at Waterfront Concerts, Production Services of Maine and I are pleased to be a part of the Bangor region business community for another ten years; bringing us to eighteen seasons of operation in the region.  The completion of this agreement will allow us, in time, to make the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion a world-class facility.”

The Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion has been host to well over 100 Regional, National and International touring acts from across the globe such as Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, Ed Sheeran, Dixie Chicks and Van Halen, with a total attendance of 735,000-plus people throughout 2010-2017.  In 2016 alone, concert attendees spent an estimated $24.9 million dollars on accommodations, food & beverage, retail purchases and local operations, helping to put Bangor on the map as a destination for fans and tourists from Maine, New Hampshire, Canada and beyond, and creating an increase in full and part-time jobs in the area.
