Who’s The Valentines Day Bandit?
Every year Portland wakes up to an amazing sight; hundreds of red hearts taped to doorways and sheets with giants hearts hung from the rooftops of local businesses and museums. They are EVERYWHERE. This year, maybe inspired by Sherlock, I decided to use my power of deduction and narrow down who I think is behind this local act of love. Here are my findings...
#1: The Captain and Celeste
- Access to tons of office supplies
- Awake and out of the house before anyone in their right mind would be
- Familiar with local business owners
#2: Portland Mayor Michael Brennan
- Using the stunt to raise sense of community
- Possibly legally obligated to do so as Mayor (secret decree?)
- Is a nice enough guy to pull this off
#3: Pat Callaghan
- Massive fan of The Beatles (All You Need Is Love?)
- Donates his time to charity events
- WCSH6 studios centrally located to activity
#4: The Ghost Of Longfellow (grasping at straws)
- Poet and romantic
- Born and lived in Portland, love of the city
- No one has ever seen the Bandit, ghostlike
