One of the beloved summer businesses on the causeway in Naples will not be returning after 15 years of operation by the current owners.

The Causeway Dairy Bar became a hit with locals and tourists alike, serving up 72 flavors of ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, lobster rolls, french fries, and fried dough. They had it all covered for anyone enjoying a summer day on the Causeway.

On Sunday, the owners of the Causeway Dairy Bar posted on their Facebook page that they would not be opening up again for the 2022 summer season after deciding to retire:

After 15 years of serving ice cream to the Naples community with visitors near and far, we have decided to retire. Last year was our final year serving the community. We have many great memories, from the camp kids coming by, young people getting their first jobs, yearly visitors from NH, Mass, NY, and many other places, to our more seasoned guests coming by for a cone before going back up to camp. We will miss you all but it's time. Thank You for all of your support.

There's no mention of it, but some have asked in the comments if the business is for sale, hoping maybe someone will take over the reins.

Causeway Dairy Bar will be sorely missed this summer, but we wish the owners a happy and well earned retirement.
