On Sunday, the owners of the Causeway Dairy Bar posted on their Facebook page that they would not be opening up again for the 2022 summer season as they have decided to retire. Now we've learned that the Dairy Bar space in the process of being leased by new owners with plans to open a new ice cream stand this summer.

"After 15 years of serving ice cream to the Naples community with visitors near and far, we have decided to retire," the owners wrote in their post. "Last year was our final year serving the community. We have many great memories, from the camp kids coming by, young people getting their first jobs, yearly visitors from NH, Mass, NY, and many other places, to our more seasoned guests coming by for a cone before going back up to camp. We will miss you all but it's time. Thank you for all of your support."

After reporting on the closing on Monday, I heard from Ross DeCoster of Harrison, who told me he and his wife are in the process of leasing the former space where the Causeway Dairy Bar was and plan to open C's Ice Cream Stand. C's will serve traditional hard ice cream favorites along with homemade waffle cones, and specialty sundaes like the FlufferNutter, which is just what it sounds like. Peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter sauce and marshmallow cream.

The final details are being worked out, but the DeCoster's hope to open C's Ice Cream Stand by Mother's Day weekend.
