The WBLM band is coming out of hibernation to rock in the MAMM SLAM "Business Class" Competition, Thursday Night at Portland House of Music.

Lots of businesses have their own "house bands" who play around for fun. And on Thursday night it gets serious as bands from CIEE, Engine Room, and WBLM will have a chance to take the stage at the Portland House of Music & Events and show a panel of local celebrity judges what they're made of.

The Guru, Dominic,  Charlie Gaylord, AJ Dukette and The Captain will represent the Blimp. Come on out and cheer them on. Make sure you tell them at the door you are there for WBLM. as we get bonus points from the judges for every one of our fans!

The event will also feature performances by MAMM student bands and the proceeds of this local business rock off will benefit MAMM's community outreach programs. In addition to its popular after-school programs such as private lessons, ensembles, and its MAMMOTH series, MAMM also provides music education programs to local schools and non-profit organizations, providing hands-on instrument workshops, artist-in-residency programs, private concerts, and ensemble direction to hundreds of students across Maine.  Partners include the Long Creek Youth Development Center, Preble Street Teen Center, The REAL School, the Maine Seacoast Mission's EdGE after school program, and others

So it should be an epic night for a great cause!

Here's the band in action with the Maine Christmas Classic, "The Blimp That Saved Christmas."
