3rd Annual Maine Celebrity Golf Benefit Swings Big, Raises Over $200,000
It was another banner year for a sporting event in Maine that continues to grow with excitement.
Celebrities recently returned to Falmouth to compete in the 3rd Annual Drive for Kids golf benefit. The event, organized by Shamrock Sports & Entertainment, offers Mainers and celebrities alike the opportunity to enjoy a great tournament while giving back to two well-deserving charities.
Celebrities Were in Maine Once Again for an Exciting Golf Benefit
The celebrity lineup for this year's tournament was especially impressive. Vince Carter, Jim Rice, Michael Peña, Carly Chaikin, and Jon Lester were just some of the big names who teed off in support of a great cause.
Held once again at the Falmouth Country Club, the tournament was a tremendous success, raising over $200,000 for the Dempsey Center and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. It’s yet another example of the incredible charitable spirit we have here in Maine.
The total prize purse for the celebrities was $265,000, with the winner taking home $50,000. Not a bad chunk of change for a weekend of work. Plus, is golf really work?
At the end of the day, the tournament crowned its first-ever two-time winner, as former tennis champion Mardy Fish claimed victory for the second consecutive year. Fish narrowly edged out former NHL star Joe Pavelski by two points in the modified Stableford scoring format. Finishing in third place was Army veteran and disabled golf champion Chad Pfeifer.
The 3rd Annual Drive Fore Kids Raised Over $200,000 for Two Incredible Maine Charities
But we all know what this tournament is truly about - giving back. Kudos to all the players, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes for putting together such a meaningful event for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and the Dempsey Center.
What an incredible third year for Shamrock and everyone involved in making this tournament happen. And it was great to finally have absolutely perfect weather for the entire weekend of events.
I must say, I’m already looking forward to the 2026 tournament.
