Dude From Auburn Walks Into Auburn Restaraunt to Pick Up His $3 Million Drug Shipment

Um, he was arrested.

The plan sounded good on paper. But not great when executed. Let's review. According to the Auburn Police Department, on Friday, April 28 the unnamed restaurant in Auburn got a crate from Arizona. The employees thought it was the mugs they recently ordered. Nope. The crate had a plastic tote inside loaded with drugs. The tote had a shipping label with the address of the restaurant and the contact name of 'Jeremy Mercier'. Jeremy does not work at the restaurant.

That's when they called the police who came and confirmed that yes, it's drugs. The Auburn Police and detectives brought the crate and all the drugs to the department where a chemical field examination was done. They determined that it was Fentanyl. Just a short time later, Jeremy Mercier was at the restaurant asking about the shipment.

Those black packages are kilos of fentanyl. This is such an amazing get. It's part great policing and pure luck that Jeremy is not super smart about shipping drugs to a restaurant that he doesn't work at. That's when police arrested 41-year-old Jeremy Mercier. He was out on pre-conviction bail for an unrelated criminal charge. He's also got a previous Federal conviction for the distribution of cocaine back in 2007. He did several years in Federal prison for that one. They also seized almost $3000. The fentanyl has a street value of $3 million. Wow. He's looking at a ton of felony charges and is currently at the Androscoggin County Jail with no bail.
