Edna Libby Elementary In Standish Is Closed Monday Due To Flu Outbreak

The flu is rampant and it has hit Edna Libby Elementary School in Standish hard. There have been so many cases of the flu that the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that school be closed Monday, February 3rd for a three day incubation process to occur and hopefully prevent further cases.

Maintenance at the school is continuing to disinfect and clean, but a break from exposure is what will hopefully stop the spread of influenza at Edna Libby.

Symptoms of the flu include:

• Fever
• Cough
• Body aches
• Tiredness
• Stuffy or runny nose
• Headache
• Possibly vomiting or diarrhea

Please wash your hands often, see your doctor if you have these symptoms and avoid exposing others while you are feeling sick.
