Floating New Hampshire Restaurant Partially Sinks into Lake Winnipesaukee
The Dive floating Restaurant in Laconia partially sank into Lake Winnipesaukee, according to a report from WHDH.
A contractor made a mistake and after the problem was discovered, it took about 20 minutes to repair, according to their Facebook page. Water needs to be pumped out, but other than that, the Dive has no significant damage.
Here's the crew looking happy and safe. All's well that ends well.
The Dive has had it's share of controversy with the residents around the lake. According to a Laconia Daily Sun, some would like the floating restaurant, which is 62 feet long and 22 feet wide, moved. There has been much debate online with much support for the Dive saying it's not their fault that people coming off the boat are making a lot of noise. Also, the cost of moving the restaurant would be significant.
A Moultonborough couple once filed a lawsuit against the Dive that asked the court to cease operation in May of 2020. The suit also alleged the activities violates New Hampshire's Water Management and Protection laws.
