Tourtiere, creton, poutine, oh my! If you're one of the many French Canadian descendants who live in Maine, or you just like switchin' up your menu from time to time, you're gonna want to visit the new restaurant replacing Papa Gino's in the Auburn Mall.

Expected to open this fall, Pierrette's C'est Si Bon Cafe is a Quebecois-style eatery featuring all the foods you could go find ingredients for and make yourself, but don't want to.

The Lewiston-Auburn area is lacking this kind of restaurant and locals will be excited to have it added to their going-out options.

As owner Francis Gagnon put it in her interview with the Sun Journal, "Why hasn’t there been a Franco-American, traditional Quebecois-style foods [restaurant] in this area? You can go and find things locally, but there’s not one devoted to it. Over the years, I’m kind of a foodie, I’ve developed a menu, just keeping track of things, ‘Oh, I wish I had this!'"

Now, you can too! Mark your calendar: come September, the days of foraging for ingredients from your grandmother's recipe in the grocery store will be a thing of the past.
