According to WUSA9.com, without the extension of the CARES Act stimulus package, the additional $600 a week from unemployment will end July 25th. Some Americans are under the impression that the benefit will end July 31st.

According to statement from the U.S. Dept. of Labor, "The CARES Act specifies that Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation benefit payments will end after payments for the last week of unemployment before July, 31, 2020."

As of July 31st unemployment payments will return to what they were before the pandemic. Democrats had pushed to extend the $600 a week payments through January but the proposal was blocked by the Republican led Senate.

Eviction Prevention for residents of apartments provided through HUD, USDA and other federally subsidized housing will end July 25th when the CARES Act expires.

The deadline for applying for the Small Business Paycheck Protection Program has been extended to August 8th to help owners with payroll, rent and other expenses.
