Helping Mainers Fight Breast Cancer Just Got Easier With a QR Code
No matter where you are, you can make a difference.
For over 20 years Cans for a Cure has raised money to help Mainers fight breast cancer. We do it a nickel at a time with the world's largest bottle drive we call Cans for a Cure. We collect bottles and cans and with the help of Clynk, we turn that into money.
But not everyone wants to deal with stinky bottles and cans. And trust me when I say stinky - they truly are. Plus, our friends in New Hampshire who would like to help their neighbors in Maine can't with their bottles and cans. There is no deposit on bottles and cans in New Hampshire. But we don't want to leave you out of it! And that's where a QR Code comes in pretty handy! It's easy and all done through the benefactor of Cans for a Cure - the Maine Cancer Foundation.
This fundraiser has splintered off into a thousand directions. Giving is contagious. Many Mainers (and New Hampshirites!) have held mini fundraisers for the cause. Dozens of businesses get involved in the craziness and spectacle that is Cans for a Cure! There are so many ways to help.
How can YOU help? Well, there are many, many ways:
- Come on down to the Maine Mall with your bottles and cans starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 18th - Friday, October 20th (10 a.m.). We are right under the giant Jordan's Furniture sign on the corner near Hannaford, Dunkin, and across the street from Panera Bread in South Portland.
- You can DONATE right now! Why wait? Why even bother with those pesky bottles and cans? The Maine Cancer Foundation has made it super easy for ya! And of course, the QR Code was just recently added!
- Get on the Can Van Route! Toooot tooot! Bill Dodge Autogroup has once again given us the big ol' Can Van and I'll be tooling around all of Maine! Got some bottles and cans but just can't make it to the Mall? Email me at: lori.voornas@townsquaremedia.com
- Shift funds from your CLYNK account! Why touch bottles and cans twice? If you've got some funds in your Clynk account - you have a couple of options on how you can help that way!
However you help, every nickel is appreciated. Thank you. It means the world to me - Lori Voornas.
