Maine Snow Day

In what seems like the entire season of winter fit into the month of February, it's once again snowing throughout Northern New England as we speak. In fact, according to various reports, today's storm is the first of three we'll get this week in Maine.

And while no doubt a ton of Granite Staters are living their best lives since it's school vacation week for New Hampshire, regardless of how they feel about winter, Mainers are also having fun (forced or not) with the weather.

Maine Restaurant Week

Despite the weather, the Incredible Breakfast Cook-Off -- the official kickoff to Maine Restaurant Week -- went off at the Sea Dog Brewing location on Broadway in South Portland.

Needless to say, what's been dubbed (by me, personally, no one else) as "The Thanksgiving of Breakfast" saw tons of smiles, laughter, and fun amongst Mainers regardless of the elements. But even Maine businesses are embracing the weather at this point.

Robin's Confections in Biddeford, Maine

A Maine favorite for delicious, locally-made treats, Robin's Confections in Biddo decided to embrace yet another batch of snow with some comedy on their electronic sign, taking a bit of a page out of Binga's playbook and their iconic signs.

Because whether it was to make their own staff laugh on what could be a quiet day due to the day-long snowfall, or to actually try and drum up some business through a fun sign message -- or both -- on Instagram, Robin's decided to make a "deal" with customers for what seems like today only.

(And possibly Friday, too, when we're on tap to get more snow.)

So, if you're in the area, do yourself a favor and snag some delicious sweets from Robin's. After all, they shoveled the ramp, so it's part of the deal.
