The only option of Bueno Loco is closed - but I know who's filling the space.

Tucked between a bank and a pet shop was the only place in Falmouth Maine for Mexican food. But Bueno Loco closed down at the end of September. The note on the door mentioned that another restaurant was coming, but didn't say who.

I have heard from a reliable source that the manager of the Falmouth Village Shopping area (where Bueno Loco is) says the new tenant will be El Rayo Taqueria!

Falmouth would be their third location after hugely popular locations in Portland (dangerously close to where I work) and Scarborough.

El Rayo is exactly what Falmouth needs! Great atmosphere, great food, and awesome winter specials like my favorite $3.00 taco Tuesdays. But what my intell didn't tell me was a time frame for El Rayo to open. El Rayo would be a welcome addition to a growing food scene in Falmouth. Sicilian Table is up and running, news of Jersey Mike's Subs going where the now defunct Olympia Sports is and now a new favorite Mexican place.

So happy to see more food options in Falmouth, because I always hold my breath that another bank is going to open. There are currently 10 banks on the 'miracle mile' on Route One in Falmouth. That's not a typo...10!

I guess we need all those banks? But I will never say we have too many food options. I'm a fan of food, and with all those banks in Falmouth, you know that's where all the money is. I'm kidding. It's where all their money is. See you at El Rayo on Tuesdays!
