New Aroma Joe’s Location Opens in Rockland, Maine

According to a press release from the regional coffee chain, there is a new Aroma Joe's location in Coastal Maine.

The press release explains that an Aroma Joe’s has opened at 182 Camden Street in Rockland, expanding the chain's footprint in Midcoast Maine.

The newly constructed, 1,016-square-foot location includes a drive-thru, walk-up window, and outdoor patio, and is designed to support the brand’s focus on upbeat service and specialty coffee.

The Rockland shop is owned and operated by franchisees Gregory Shpunder and Tammy Birkbeck, who also run an Aroma Joe’s location in Unity.

The new store is expected to employ 16 local workers, adding jobs while continuing the company’s emphasis on friendly, high-energy customer service.

Birkbeck said they are motivated by making a positive difference in the communities they serve and believe even small moments of kindness can improve someone’s day.  She added that they are eager to bring that mindset to Rockland and become involved in the local community.

The company has built its reputation in the quick-service coffee world by focusing on personal interaction, with staff taking orders face-to-face rather than relying solely on automated systems. Its menu includes fresh-brewed coffee, handcrafted espresso drinks, AJ’s Rush energy drinks, including a new zero-caffeine version, and infused beverages.  Food options range from breakfast sandwiches to pretzels, cinnamon rolls, and donuts.

Headquartered in Scarborough, Aroma Joe’s now operates over 130 locations across Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York.  Additionally, they have plans for additional growth on the East Coast.

Its coffee blends are Rainforest Alliance Certified, reflecting a commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing. The brand has also gained national attention, earning Top 10 drive-thru coffee recognition from USA Today for two consecutive years.
