Here’s My Favorite Unique Maine Craft Store To Try Once Joann Fabric Sadly Closes
Are you a craft girly like me and are devastated? Men can love crafts too but it won't be at Joanne Fabrics in Portland anymore after this month.
When are all Joann Fabric Locations Officially Closing?
I had to google this answer because I drive by this location every time I go home and wonder if today is going to be the day they finally shut their doors down for good.
Newsweek reports that by the end of May 2025 all locations will be officially a part of the past.
It gets confusing to see their doors are still wide open still and truthfully I was disappointed with what I found inside as their "sales".You can read about that whole ordeal here:

I can't say this enough times, this little unique store is just adorable. The little trinkets you'll find inside will excited you and the inventory seems to have an awesome turnover rate. Mainers love a good unique, old-school storefront, and I love a female owned business like theirs.
A quick description of the store is up in their Instagram bio:
"Woman owned. A curated selection of handmade crafts, unusual gifts, greeting cards, vintage finds and oddities"- @pineconeandchickadee
Where: 6 Free St. Portland, Maine
Hours: 10am-6 M-Sun
Here's how cute the store front looks all the time:
They're also female owned and operated which automatically puts them at the top of my list #womenempowerment. So fun!
If you've got your own local favorite craft store I should check out let me know in the comment section.
