How you can help students in Saco, OOB, Buxton/Hollis, Maine
They have a goal of filling and distributing over 100 backpacks, along with classroom supplies for local Saco students (from preschool through high school). Plus, they aim to collect classroom supplies for local Saco schools, surrounding schools, and teachers.
This collection event is a family event where you can bring school supplies and participate for free, or make a cash donation of at least $5.00. There will be the Saco Fire Dept with Touch-a-Truck, a food truck, games with winners getting prizes, face painting, a bounce house, a 50/50 raffle, and a raffle table where you could win some awesome items. All funds go to purchasing supplies.
In the last two years, they have filled roughly 300 backpacks and filled about 60 teacher's boxes with supplies to help them get through the year. They'd like to help even more teachers. There is a lot of need.
How can I help Maine schools if I can't make it to the event?
If you can't make it to the super fun event, there is an Amazon wish list that you can get supplies from, and they go directly to Saco area schools and students. Thank you to everyone who will make this a hugely successful year!
