Two New Arby’s Locations Planned For Maine

Whether people want to admit it or not, those that live and work in Maine really love fast food.

Despite a relatively small population statewide, Maine boasts a variety of fast food chains with lots of locations.

Some newer chains have begun moving into Maine, including Popeye's and Chick-fil-A. Those chains are moving quickly to expand, including new locations planned for Biddeford, Maine.

Another fast food chain, Shake Shack, should debut in the state sometime in the next 12 months.

Even with all of that competition, an old favorite is looking to reestablish themselves throughout Maine with a pair of new restaurants.

Arby's Planning to Open New Restaurant in Bangor, Maine

What was old will become new again in Bangor, Maine. Arby's is planning to open a new location at 57 Bangor Mall Road pending permit approvals from both the Maine DOT and the Bangor City Council.

The new Bangor, Maine, Arby's will be a full restaurant with a drive-thru.

Ironically, it will be same the exact location of the previous Arby's in the city. That location closed more than a decade ago after being operational in Bangor for 32 years.

Depending on approvals and how much renovation needs to be done, the new Arby's could be open within a year.

Arby's Will Open New Location in Scarborough, Maine

According to City of Scarborough planning board documents, a developer has sent plans for review that include the building of a brand new Arby's restaurant at 183 U.S. Route One.

The plans calls for this Arby's location to be a condensed one. That means there would be limited to no indoor seating and the restaurant would mostly operate on drive-thru business, take out and delivery options as well.

The Scarborough, Maine, Arby's will be brand new construction with no timeline for opening as of this writing.
