However, most of the time when Maine is talked about, it's specific to just the United States. This city is one of the best in the nation or this restaurant tops the list of places to try in the country. But how does Maine stack up against the rest of the globe?

The White Barn Inn in Kennebunk Once Again Receives an Accolade

Forbes released their list of the 13 best dishes in the world for 2024 and a Kennebunk, Maine, restaurant was prominently featured. That would be the White Barn Inn, already known as one of the destination restaurants in the state for a few reasons. They can add another to the list.

The restaurant itself has been around for decades and everyone who dines there understands that the food is going to be fantastic and the bill is going to be pricey.

A Vegetarian Dish Puts Maine on the Global Map

Maine has always been known for its lobster and lobster rolls but Forbes singled out the White Barn Inn's tomato tartare as one of the best bites of food they had tried anywhere around the world. Forbes led with the line "the vegetarian tomato tartare was better than it had any right to be".

The White Barn Inn was featured alongside restaurants from Bangkok to Miami to the Maldives as well as Macau. Not bad for a rustic restaurant in a small Maine town.
