Major Online Changes Coming to Hannaford Stores Across Maine
There has been a quiet battle brewing for years amongst grocery store chains throughout New England.
National retailers like Whole Foods, Walmart and Target have put pressure on regional chains like Hannaford, Shaw's and Market Basket to keep up with online shopping trends and accessibility.
Hannaford has been a leader in Maine when it comes to online grocery shopping. Their 'Hannaford To Go' option has continued to grow in popularity and has been expanded to nearly every store Hannaford operates.
But the company has also heard plenty of complaints loud and clear. Hannaford plans to roll out these improvements to their online shopping experience over the next few weeks.
Clearer and Concise Substitutions Are Coming For 'To Go' Shoppers
If you've ever placed a 'Hannaford To Go' order, one of the most frustrating hitches is substitutions. Those can come for a variety of reasons including when an item you've chosen is out of stock.
Hannaford plans to improve the substitution system for online shoppers. How they plan to execute substitutions more efficiently and with better satisfaction is coming soon.
Hannaford Will Roll Out Updated Payment Options
As major retails like Target continue to move away from traditional payment methods, the online payment system for Hannaford also needed some updating.
Hannaford plans to do just that in the coming weeks. They plan to offer customers a host of different methods for payment for 'To Go' orders online, likely matching many of the methods available in-store right now.
Hannaford Will Get More Aggressive With Couponing
As food costs continue to rise and customers continue to feel the squeeze, Hannaford is going to get more aggressive with online coupons.
Regular customers through the Hannaford app already receive rewards and updated coupons once or bi-weekly. Hannaford is planning to offer more coupons and more ways to save in their online update coming shortly.
