There are some things that people are willing to spend just about anything to acquire. For some, that may be jewelry or a collectible. For others, it's all about an unforgettable experience in the form of a vacation, an adrenaline rush, or a meal that will be talked about for years after.

LoveFood recently scoured the country attempting to find the single most expensive restaurant in every state. Their choices range from a single item being highly priced to an entire dining experience that sits on the higher end of cost.

And the choice for Maine is all about the dining experience. LoveFood named the White Barn Inn restaurant as the most expensive place to dine in the entire state. The rustic gem has been around for five decades, so while it may be pricey, people have kept coming back.

LoveFood highlighted two expensive options for foodies where money is little to no consideration. The White Barn Inn restaurant offers a lobster tasting menu that includes multiple courses with different preparations centered around lobster. That delicious and delicate experience will run you $265 per person.

The White Barn Inn restaurant has upped the ante from there. They also offer an eight-course blind tasting from the chef's own imagination. That lavish tour of scrumptious provisions will set you back $295 per person.

Maine is already well-known for having an exclusive dining experience. The Lost Kitchen in Freedom continues to be one of the most sought-after restaurants in the world for those who want to indulge.

There's more than one rustic but elegant dining experience in Maine. Just know you're going to have to throw down a lot of cash to enjoy it.
