Sunday River Ski Resort knows to please a crowd.

The popular mountain has been one of the premier ski resorts in the Northeast for decades. One of the major reasons for this is the resort's incredible innovative spirit. Expansion, state-of-the-art lifts, a summit restaurant, near capacity snowmaking, and world class instruction are just some of the features that get folks coming back throughout the winter.

And now we can add another feature to the list with a brand-new experience that is guaranteed to blow skier's minds. Introducing the Alpeniglue...

Created in Europe are these otherworldly igloos. These state-of-the-art creations have been a huge hit on the continent. However, they are finally reaching America, and Sunday River is the first to share the incredible experience.

To put it bluntly, the igloo is an ice bar. It's an entirely different way to enjoy a beverage while taking a break from the slopes. The Alpeniglue is a full-on immersive experience that will blow your mind and warm your soul.

According to Sunday River, the Apeniglue company had experts come over from Europe to dig out and construct the igloo. They are sparing no expense for this incredible experience.

This is just another innovative step being made by Sunday Rive, who is in the middle of a 10-year modernization plan, which has already seen a few high-tech chair lifts be constructed recently.

The Apeniglue is expected to be in operation soon. It will only be accessible by ski or snowboard on trails leading to one of those new lifts, the Jordan 8. Last call will be 40 mins before last chair.

You can find more info about it here.
