New England States as Christmas Movies: What Are Your Thoughts?
What's your favorite Christmas movie?
This writer's top choice would probably be a tie between Home Alone and Elf. Both are absolutely hilarious, and have been go-to films since childhood. Of course, you can't go wrong with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, as well as the classic claymation specials we know and love.
But when it comes to these festive holiday films, which ones represent our New England states the most accurately? The TikTok user @new_england_dad, a Granite Stater who shares comedic content centered on our beloved region, decided to share his thoughts on the subject. Here's what he had to say about New England states as Christmas movies.
Within seconds, @new_england_dad's choice for Connecticut is spot-on. Considering the state has one of the highest per-capita incomes in the nation, it's safe to say that a movie about "a family so rich they forget about the existence of their child" is on-brand (we're only joking, of course).
When it comes to Rhode Island, some might indeed consider it to be the "underdog" New England state, but take that opinion with a grain of salt. Just cause it's the smallest doesn't mean it doesn't have more to offer. Like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, it just might surprise you. You're right once again, @new_england_dad.
Once again, this writer is in agreement with @new_england_dad as far as Massachusetts is concerned. If any New England attorney is going to find Santa Clause deceased in the front yard and take over the whole North Pole operation, it's gonna be someone from Mass. Plus, compared to the maddening traffic conditions people endure when it comes to driving into Boston, becoming Santa Clause should be a walk in the park.
