The video begins with the quote from Portland poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "Music is the universal language of mankind." It is truly how we communicate best with each other which makes it even more fitting that a song called, Understand written by local artist, Frank Hopkins was chosen for this beautiful musical postcard from Maine.

Once again the amazing Jeff Shaw and the talented folks at the Maine Academy of Modern Music got together with local film makers and musicians to create a seamless music video. The last time they did this in 2012 with our own Dominic's song, Be In Love, it was filmed all around Portland. This time it's even more ambitious, shot on locations all over the state of Maine. You'll definitely see places you recognize in this video and you might even see someone you know. I did. I see Captain Ivy's daughter Emma singing a line with her band Yard Sail at the Bates Mill in Lewiston. Great job Emma! Where did all that soul come from?
